Editorial policy
This page explains how we produce, verify and correct the content published by Symbol Consulting. It is the standard the editorial team applies to every article.
Voice and approach
We publish in the editorial voice of the firm, in the third person and with an analytical tone. We do not present articles as the personal advice of an individual, and we do not attribute opinions to invented spokespeople. When we cite an authority, a law or a figure, it comes from an identifiable source. Our aim is to explain the regulatory frameworks of Uruguay and Panama — taxation, free zones, economic substance, beneficial-owner registries, logistics — with accuracy and local context.
AI-assisted content and human oversight
Part of our workflow uses artificial-intelligence tools for drafting and structuring tasks. No content is published without review and approval by a human editor. The editorial team is responsible for every article: it checks the facts, verifies figures and the effective dates of rules, adapts the register to each country, and ensures the text is original, accurate and useful. AI is a support tool; editorial responsibility is human. This approach follows Google’s guidance on helpful, reliable content, which prioritises quality and oversight over the method of production.
Fact-checking and sources
Every claim about rates, thresholds, deadlines or legal requirements is checked against primary sources before publication. Our basic rule: if there is no source, the figure is not used. Our reference sources include:
- Uruguay: INE, the Central Bank of Uruguay (BCU), Uruguay XXI, Zonamerica and the leading business dailies.
- Panama: INEC, ASEP, the Panama Canal Authority (ACP), the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and the Official Gazette (Gaceta Oficial).
- General: official public registries, published legal texts and analysis from recognised professional firms.
Updates and review dates
Tax and regulatory frameworks change quickly. The most volatile topics — tax-residency thresholds, economic-substance rules, rates and logistics restrictions — are reviewed periodically and carry a review date. When a reform changes a published figure, we update the article and flag the change.
Corrections
If a reader spots a factual error, they can write to us via the Contact page. We review every notice; when a material error is confirmed, we correct the text and record the correction transparently.
Advice disclaimer
